Prototype #1: Base of Support

In November 2024, my first prototype is an experiment of the body movement based on a concept of Base of Support (BOS) of Biomechanics. In this performance, I started from laying down on floor, gradually reduced the contact area between my body and the floor.

As a consequence, I stood up and tried to remove the contact area completely through a jump. Eventually, I jumped higher and higher from a ladder to gain more time that was free from the contact area.

And I finished my performance by lying prone and stopping the movement, maintaining full contact with the floor.

During the whole process, the remaining body parts that were not in contact with the floor were engaged in making balance. Also, I used my inner rhythm as a cue to change my position and increase its tempo. An interesting thing is, while I stood up and moved faster, I felt an excitement and it affected my facial expression.
